“Nie Ma”

So it seems that there will be no more people visiting WWDC this year; it just sold out, even earlier than before. One wonders if perhaps next year Apple will rent some of the other Moscone buildings to fit everyone in? I’m sure the big halls at Moscone North/South could serve a fair few labs, at the very least.
I’m pretty lucky that I managed to get my ticket this year—it literally got activated minutes before the sellout announcement appeared, which is a definite improvement of last year’s inverse of that situation (pay-cheque clearing 5 hours after the sellout). Since our bank still (!) refuses to accept incoming wires from Apple with our profits, Dave & I were only able to pool enough resources for a single ticket, which it was agreed that I take (as the Cocoa developer of the team). That means that if you want to talk to Morfunk people there, I’m your only option. I’ll apologize in advance for being somewhat inebriated ;o)
I’m not sure what the attendance situation is with Pinch/Zoom except that Dave (again) and Garrett aren’t going to be there. Hopefully we’ll be able to make an announcement about who’ll be around sometime soon.
To those of you who couldn’t make it this year, there’s always the videos from ADC. The complete set from WWDC 2008 cost $999 (I think), with each of the three tracks (Mac, Server, iPhone) available individually for $499. I grabbed them as soon as they were available, and they’ve proved invaluable, especially with all the Snow Leopard information. Getting the same level of detail from the in-progress documentation distributed with the beta release is nigh-on impossible (no-one’s going to devote the inordinate amount time required to write it all up when it’s still in flux, after all). Beyond that, just be glad that you’ve probably saved yourself about $3000-$4000 in total. Hm… Gee, I hope payday comes along sometime soon…
Anyone who’ll be there, ping me via Twitter if you want to meet up for a drink and/or a chat.
*”Nie Ma” is Polish for ‘there are none’, ‘it’s gone’, that sort of thing. It’s what my daughter says (well, ‘nuh muh’ is what she says) when she can’t find something.
