To me the New York Times has committed at least an act of bad citizenship, but whether they have committed a crime is a matter of discussion for the justice department.

Now I wonder what would happen if WikiLeaks had discovered that, say, some committee to lobby for the president’s re-election had been used as a front for illegal activities against the opposing party? And that people right up to the Secretary of State and even the President were involved in trying to cover it up?

Wow, whoever did that would surely be put to the chair, no?
