October 1, 2008 to September 1, 2009:

Current processing times for the Canadian Experience Class will be available with the next update, in January/February 2010. This will mark 12 months of processing upon which the processing times can be calculated.

This text has been present on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada website’s page for processing times for permanent residency applications for well over a year. Supposedly they update every quarter, which is why the 12 months’ worth of information leading to September wouldn’t be published until January/February.

It’s now almost April. Still no-one can tell me how long my application is expected to take, therefore whether I’ll need to have $1000 or $2000 of petty cash to hand within the next month or so (initial application costs $450/person, then $500/person upon acceptance). I’d apply right now, except I can’t pull an extra $1000 out of my pocket inside the next month if the rumours I’ve heard of < 1 month turnarounds being true.
